By Mehedi Hassan

The winner of the 2012 Australian Open Women's final will be decided the battle between the Russian and the Belarusian, at the historic Rod Laver Arena as 2008 champion Maria Sharapova takes on first time slam finalist Victoria Azarenka.

World No.1 Maria Sharapova prepares herself for her last barrier in Belarusian and third seed Victoria Azarenka as the 2012 Australian Open Women's final kicks off in just a few moments from now at the famous Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

Sharapova is certainly back with full force and on Saturday, when the whole world awaits the newest conqueror of the Daphne Akhurst Trophy, Sharapova will know deep down - "It's time for the kill." Petra Kvitova, who became her most recent victim in the semifinals on Thursday.

“Of course it took a long time and it was a process, but it was just something that was in my steps that I had to go through. And I did", said Sharapova. "I think personally, for me, it's more about the Grand Slam win than the No. 1 ranking. That's just always been the goal for me.

The other finalist, Belarusian Victoria Azarenka is enjoying her first Grand Slam final appearance, exactly after a year of contemplating a sabbatical from the sport that wasn't staging the desired results for her.

Azarenka's renewed approach towards the game garnered her great success in the last twelve months and gave her the confidence to finally attempt to put her name on a well-deserved major trophy.

Sharapova - "I think she's a very tough opponent. She's been in the finals here, she won here, so definitely she has a lot of experience. We always had difficult matches, so really looking forward to that battle. It's not going to be easy."

So, who will be the winner? I hope you are so excited about your favorite player. Watch Live

The pick of the 3rd round of FA Cup is definitely the Manchester derby match which sees neighbours and violent rivals Manchester City who are the FA Cup holders, play host to English Premier League Champions Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. Manchester United and Manchester City will largely be fielding full force sides due to the fact that both clubs are out of the Champions League, this is a local derby and FA Cup success is one of the key priorities of both their seasons. Additionally Manchester United will be eager to gain revenge for the 6 – 1 drubbing Manchester City conferred on them in the league at Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Big Derby Match in FA Cup, 2012
Roberto Mancini supposes Sir Alex Ferguson cannot get himself to acknowledge Manchester City have played the best football in the English Premier League this season. On the other hand defender Joleon Lescott repeated Mancini's comments ahead of the clubs' meeting at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Lescott also believes Manchester United fans are struggling to come to terms with the reality that the derby is now their most important match of the season, eclipsing the historic rivalry with Liverpool.

Ferguson appeared to be flakeing away in archetypal style before the cup tie by claiming Tottenham Hotspur, not Manchester City, are English football's great performers.

News of the city:

Manchester Police had warned fans of Manchester City and United that they will "fasten down tough" on any supporters cause trouble at Sunday's FA Cup match at the Etihad Stadium.

As well as warning supporters going to the match, they have warned against the dangers of "increased alcohol utilization" to those watching the game on the television and the threat of violent behavior.

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "Manchester has been lucky enough to be able to get pleasure from another derby match, this time as an exciting FA Cup tie".

The close competition between the clubs really adds something more to this fixture and should be embrace, but police of Manchester ensured that this is not used as an excuse by some individuals to accomplish football-related cruelty and disorder.
